Swiss Travel Winter Holiday Blog

It was powder snow, superb skiing and celebrity spotting for those of us who visited Davos-Klosters this weekend. Swiss Travel Service along with other selected British tour operators and journalists were invited to attend a fam trip hosted by Davos-Klosters tourist board.

The trip coincided with the Altitude music festival and five day Klosters Snow Polo tournament where we enjoyed post-match champagne in the Snow Polo VIP hospitality tent, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Annie Lennox and Simon le Bon.

Klosters Snow Polo

But it's not all about glamour - the skiing was amazing too! Davos-Klosters has had amazing snowfalls this season – the best since 1998. Over 40cms fell over the weekend which meant powder skiing on the Jakobshorn, Rinerhorn and Parsenn areas.

Highlights of the weekend
Best for powder skiing: Jakobshorn area, around Clavadelier Bubble chairlift
Best for escaping the crowds: Rinerhorn mountain, 20mins away on free ski bus
Favourite hotels: the stunning Hotel Grischa in Davos Platz, now a 4 star superior design hotel after a 2 year renovation and the Hotel Alpina opposite Klosters railway station
Favourite restaurant:Zum Bergfuhrer, a beautiful rustic restaurant in Davos Sertig, situated in a side valley 9kms from Davos
