Klosters
Klosters is an internationally renowned resort, famous for its royal connections, and it has still managed to retain the atmosphere of an unspoilt alpine village with relaxed, unpretentious feel. Klosters offers a choice of bars, traditional restaurants and cafés. Head for the Cellar bar at Chesa Grischuna straight after skiing and Casa Antica or Fellini's bar later in the evening. Don't miss the traditional mountain restaurants at Schwendi or the Walserhof restaurant in the village, both firm favourites with the royals, although be prepared to book in advance.
The Ski Area
The five areas of Klosters and Davos are easily accessible by ski or train and form a paradise for all levels of skier. The Gotschna cable car gives access to the extensive Parsenn area. Good skiers will want to try the interesting black runs from the Weissfluhgipfel, which at 2844m is the highest point in the ski area. The long run from the Weissfluhjoch down to Klosters is a must, stopping at one of the traditional Schwendi restaurants on the way. Madrisa is reached by ski bus from Klosters village. Here there are a variety of south facing easy and intermediate pistes. Experienced skiers will enjoy the long descent to Klosters via the Schlappin valley. The Jakobshorn, Pischa and Rinerhorn area are also covered on the whole area lift pass.
